Places to visit in Japan


LI: To find 5 places you would want to visit in Japan and say why each place has captured your interest.
This week we have been learning about the Rugby World Cup that has been held in Japan.
For this task we had to find some places to visit in Japan. By doing this task I learnt some information about some places. For example Mt Fuji is recognized as on of the “Three Holy Mountains in Japan. I didn't knew it before. The other places are Tokyo,Osaka,Kyoto,Hokkaido and Mt Fuji.

Water safety


LI: To learn special water safety skills.
This week was the life jacket week. We had to wear life jackets. The first thing we did was paddle and kick to the other platform. The second thing that we did was swimming to the wall then float on our backs. The last thing we did was a pencil dive.A pencil dive is when you put your hand on your head and the other hand across your waist and take a big step forward.It was really fun because I love the teachers who teach me because they liked me in their group.

Matching task


LI: apply inquiry, literacy and numeracy skills to learn about the RWC.

For this task I had to match the position to the players. I learnt that there are lots of different positions in rugby which are: Center, Prop, Fly Half, WIng, Lock, and Flanker. I also learned the new information about each of the players.

Rube Goldburg machine


L.I:To apply knowledge of simple machines to create a Rube Goldberg machine. Our challenge was to make a simple Rube Goldberg machine using  all the six simple machines.The simple machines we used for our Rube Goldberg machine is a pulley, wedge, incline plane, wheel & axle and a lever.The challenging part is what are we going to make and what we are going to use for our simple machines.The part that I will make different is the pulley part.I want to change and get a better pulley.The material I will use for the pulley is a yo-yo.

World Time

LI: apply inquiry, literacy and numeracy skills to learn about the RWC.
My maths learning for today was to fill this table by coverting the 6pm time in Japan to the times in the differents countries shown in the table for the final of the Rugby World Cup.

What is the 24hr clock?
Acording to Simple Wikipedia( my source) a 24-hour clock is a way of telling the time in which the day runs from midnight to midnight and is divided into 24 hours, numbered from 0 to 24. It does not use a.m. or p.m. ... A time in the 24-hour clock is written in the form hours:minutes (for example, 01:23), or hours:minutes:seconds (01:23:45).

Time changes if you go to one hemisphere to another hemisphere and when you cross over the equator.

AM and PM
AM is a short version for Ante Meridiem and it is before midday. PM is a short version of Post Meridiem and it is after midday

Writing

This week we trying to sell a clothing that is called a thneed that is a myth and that is the clothing that we have to sale.

What is a thneed?
A thneed is a object that has been knitted a big truffala trees.

What can it be used for?
It was very useful as a shirt, a sock, a glove, and a hat. It also could be used for carpet, pillows, sheets, curtains, or covers for bicycle seats. The Lorax did not think anyone would want to purchase a Thneed.

Swimming

LI: to learn water safety and swimming.
This week for kiwi sport we did streamline and kicking. Streamline and kicking: We put our hands together in the air knee down the swim remember look down and closes your eyses and kick. Floating on backs: Put your legs on the bar then slowly (without making the leg off the bar) then float. Tummy up,Chin in: We lie down ,we make our tummy up then we put our chin in. Floating on backs with noodles: We float our backs it is the same as the bar execpt with noodles.

Swimming

LI: To learn water safety and swimming.
We were learning water safety and swimming.
Firstly we did follow the leader with the swim boards. Secondly we were floating on the bars then we did the dolphin dive. Thirdly we did follow the leader again. Lastly we did was a challenge called last one to go up in the water.

Writing



LI to learn about the persiave tools of advertising.
Today we were learning about Television Advertising.
The first slide we did was find 3 examples of video advertisements that use celebrities to sell their product. The second slide was an ad that was called the unsell we have to anser all five question for the ad. The last slide we have to an ad of your favorite thing then answer the five question again.

For Kiwi Can we were learning how to deal with challenges that you are facing with.
We need to pratice dealing with challenges so we can deal them easily in the furture.
We did a Bus stop activity. We had to explain the challengesin the pictures.

Jamie Wall was our duffy model. Jamie was given a book called Men in Black. He wrote a book called Brothers in black. Jamine was in Maori tv, Radio NZ, Newshub and Stuff.
Jamie has seen the all blacks,Warriors,UFC,Cricket,Super rugby and Fifa world cup.
Jamie has been in Japan,Argentina,Italy,France,England,Ireland and Austrilla.
When he grew up he was in Welington.

LI: to apply the print design.
For cybersmart we have to make a poster of one of the simple machine and apply the print design. We have make the content then make it pretty after you put it in a folder that you are shared with.After you show it  then you blog it.

For writing we were learning about the persusive tools in advertising.
WE have to be a group of three or four then make cope of a slide fill the first four. After you have to watch some videos of ad vs reality. After that we have to make our own slogan of the school then how people make the foods in ads.

For inquiry we were learning Archimedes screw.
We have to be a group of five. Then we have to the activity we have to make our own Archimedes screw with wood and straws. Archimedes screw is a simple machine the moves water from 1 level to the other.

Kiwi can

LI: to learn how to overcome challenges.
Today for Kiwi Can we were learning how to overcome challenges.Challenges means difficult tasks. 

Many challenges that we are given are like quizzes,playing tag and more. To learn about challenges we played puzzle challenges. We have to be in a circle the kiwi can leader have to say six tasks that were jump in,jump out,turn around,touch the ground,look up and look down. After the kiwi can leader mix them up then say what they like to say.
