Geometree

 

This is the second activity of the Summer Learning Journey, it is called Geometree.  Geometreee is an art that includes a tree filled with the leaves and the branches that are triangular shapes.

For this activity I did the kick start activity because it was easyfor me to do. The main colors i had used in this artpiece are brown, green and light green.

For me it is hard because I had to restart my art three times to have this better one.

Sunwoo - Vector Art

This was the first activity for the Summer Learning Journey, it was called Vector Art. Vector art is an art style that people use when they copy the original image. 

For this activity I picked the step it up activity, for my hero, I chose a Kpop Idol named Sunwoo, he is in a Kpop group called The Boyz. The reason I picked him is because he was the second person that got me into Kpop last year. 

I picked two quotes from Sunwoo, they are:

"Tomorrow exists so you can procrastinate"
"Keep your face towards the sun and shadows will fall behind you" 

For the first quote, it means that there will be one day, you can delay. The second quote, it means that if you look on the positive side, the negatives will keep on following you.

My top three tips are:

1. Match the colours to the original image by using this https://designs.ai/colors or make your own colours that match the image.

2. Draw the main things then start on your detail.

3. Group your drawings pieces as one.

Art Coloring Book - NASA edition

This was the teaser activity fro the Summer Learning Journey, the activity was the Art Colouring Book but NASA edition, I chose the space shuttle because it was easy but also hard to pick the color that matches with the image. After coloring the image in, i wrote three facts about the space shuttle.

Own Character Profile

Our challenge was to design our own anime/manga character. Our next challenge was to draw the character on our chromebooks or on paper. I chose to draw my character on my monitor because to challenge my drawing skills Our final challenge was to write a paragraph that describes our character.

Animation

LI: to create an animation

One of the oldest surviving pieces of Japanese animation may be a nameless, dateless, approximately 3-second film known as “Katsudo Shashin“ (literally “Action Photo“). It simply features a boy writing the words 活動写真 katsudo shashin and then doffing his cap.

Our challenge today was to use our animation skills to create our own 3 second ‘action photo’ using our own manga character.

I enjoyed this because I got to experiment with different colours and animes to choose from.

Anime/Manga Character profile

 

Our challenge was to choose our favourite anime/manga character. Our next challenge was to draw the character on our chromebooks or on paper. I chose to draw my character on paper because to challenge myself. Our final challenge was to write a paragraph that describes our character and explains why this character is your favourite

Manga Artist

Our challenge today was to use our smart searching skills to create a DLO in our own words that tells us about the life of our favourite manga artist or a well known manga artist.

 

History of Manga

For Reading we were learning about Anime and Manga, using this topic to improve our comprehension skills. Manga, is known as a Japanese Comic. It has widely spread throughout the world, and is a very popular trend. Manga and Anime have become a big part of Japanese Culture. There are Manga and Anime such as One Piece, Naruto, Dragon Ball that have taken over the world. Our task was to make a DLO (Digital Learning Object) about the History of Manga, describing the origin and what it is?

Customised Shoes

The challenge we were set for today was to skim and scam an article about Rangi-Haira Jaxon and his passion for customizing shoes. Rangi-Haira Jaxon designs shoes and sneakers, and was inspired by Maori culture and a documentary called 'Just For Kicks'.

Something I found interesting was that his sneakers are sold world-wide, including countries like Japan, the United States, Sweden and Australia. I enjoyed this task because I had the opportunity to expand my knowledge of Rangi-Haira Jaxon and his passion for customizing shoes.

Artwork

For our Reading we were learning about artwork, using different art tools and using shapes to create pieces of artwork. The artwork I had recreated was "Cafe Terrace". It was fun doing as I got to recreate it with tools on Google Drawing, being able to trace certain parts as well as create other parts with the shapes available on the app. It was fun doing, as we got to use other colouring tools such as Coolour. 

Lockdown Maths

For Maths we were learning about how to locate and identify errors, then how to fix the problem. It was really fun doing, and I was able to show my strategy. It was especially fun doing, being able to work with my friends. The questions we had were multiplication, addition, and BEDMAS. BEDMAS stands for Brackets, Exponents, Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction. 

Geese

For Reading we read a text, and answered questions about the text to enhance our skill in comprehension and inference. For our task we made a DLO (Digital Learning Object) about Geese showing 5 facts about them. It was fun doing as we were able to do this with our friends, and it was very interesting learning different facts about these geese. 

Lockdown Maths

As a group we worked on papers to write our thoughts more clearly. Our strategy was to add the first 3 numbers (657, 493, 1183) and get an answer of 2333, we then subtracted that number from 6000 to get our final answer of 3667. We then created a DLO of our understanding.

Handshakes

For maths we had to fnd out how many many handshakes for the entire LS2. We worked out that each person would shake hands with 53 other people since there are 54 people and you can’t shake hands with yourself. So we multiplied 53x54 to the answer which is 2862. It was really fun and interesting to do when we got to do it wih our friends, solving this together. 

List Poem

What is a million? A million is the amount of things I am grateful for. The total “Thank you”s I could give. The number of times my cousin had annoyed me .  The reasons why you are my friend. The amount of times I’ve watched Mulan. The number of things on my wishlist. The amount of dollars I’d like to have A million is the times my mother has told me “I love you”

For Writing we were learning about Poems. The Poem we were learning about today is called a List Poem. By the name it states that it is a poem that lists things you've done, or would like to do. This was really fun because the poem I did was called "What is a million", listing things I have or have done a million times. It was really fun doing this activity as I got to see what I have done in my lifetime, as well as appreciate what is around me. 

Lockdown Activities

 

Auckland is being in lockdown for seven days, so I decided to kpop journaling. The first kpop journaling spread was about one of the songs for the Map of the soul 7 by BTS. I really wrote what I think about the song. First Ilistened to the song, listen to those important stuff of the song. Then, I write what comes from my head.  For the second journaling spread, I went researching about Kim Taehyung or V, then write it all down in my own words.

Lockdown Activities

Auckland is being in lockdown for seven days, so I decided to paint with watercolors. The painting was Taehyung from BTS and the song Dynamite, the layout I went for was a Microsoft paint.  First I drew what I was about to paint. After hours of drawing it was finally done. Then, came the painting part, it was difficult, then added the shadows. AFter I outlined everything with a black pen.

Letter Q

LI: to extend our vocabulary with the letter Q

For Reading we were learning about words starting with the Letter Q. We started off by reading a text talking about the origin of the Letter Q, and where it came from. Our task was to create a DLO (Digital Learning Object) showcasing words we know starting with the Letter Q, and words we don’t know starting with Q. 

It was really fun and interesting doing because we got to learn new vocabulary.

Te Reo Challenge

 For this weeks Maori task we were challenged to find the different amount of objects there were on an i spy sheet. The challenge was that all the objects names were in maori so we were to translate them and find out how many there are of that object. On the left of the DLO it corresponds with the list on the right. Porohita  13 and so on.
