inquiry catapult







LI: to evaluating your contribution.
this week for inquiry we did hills forts we had to writing a bout how they got bulid,Name of the location,Examplse  and catapult ,What technology we are doing.

How to play the game?
We need: 4 blue and red counters and I gold counter.
Then set up your base after we only can move I step forward and enjoy.

Reading

LI: to learn legends, folks and fairy tales.
For reading we had to vislasize the legend of Rahi we had to draw things that you listen to the legend. This legend of rahi has been along time in 2016 LS1 was doing a play of the legend of Rahi.

Maths

For maths we have to watch two videos that is perimeter and area after we have to re watch the 2 videos after we have to do the glossary. The glossary has not that many question but it says in the glossary what is a area and a perimeter. After we did the sheet digital but the digital on has the numbers but the printed one is a bit harder. After we did the harder one a piece of paper we needed a ruler and a pencil to do this.

Swimming

LI: Learn to use a life jacket.

For swimming we have to wear life jackets we start off with a pencil dive.
How to do a pencil dive?
1. Step on the grey part of the swimming pool.
2.  A big step in no jumping.
After this was our 2nd thing we did is that we have to float on our backs.
How to float on our back?
1. Wear a life jacket.
2. Go on your back and float.
The life jacket will make you float on your back.
the 3rd thing we did is that we have to hold on the person life jacket arm and pretend you are like a chain. After the 4th thing is that we have to huddle up in a circle with our armpits and our life jacket. And the 5th thing be like cannon.
How to be a cannon?
1. Float
2. put your knees up and hold it.

This activity was cool and awesome.

Kiwi Can

For Kiwi Can we were learning about problem solving. Problem solving means that how we can solve our problem and what is the resolution. Our 1st game was called Run Jump how does this game work is that we have to be in 2 groups I was in number 2 we have to run and jump t the end when another person is closer to you, you and the person have to do rock paper scissor. After it was lesson time in lesson we talk about problem solving and how you can solve the problem yourself. And we were learning about tell someone else for help this means that if you are shy and you don't won't to tell on a teacher for help just be brave like other people do. After lesson time  it was our 2nd game this game was called Matt doage ball we have to do in a circle after we have to be number after Mr . Matt have to say a number after we have to attack them after Mr Matt have to say the winner of the team.. When Mr Matt say all of the winners. the winners are the team boss and the rest of the circle have to get the 4 boss and save them after it was GKQ Master.



Cityscape

Today me , RJ and Fanini were making cityscape.
We have to look on the tv and look ad talk about what colors is on the picture.
The colors are cold and warm. We have to use the colors for our seiliwet.

How to make a city scape?
1. Make a google draw.
2. Insert a image.
3.Outline the cityscape with polyline when the polyline doesn't work do it with the shapes.
4. Print it
5. Get a black piece of paper.
6. Get a red, blue, purple and yellow piece of paper.
7. Cut and glue blue, purple and red 2 times.
8. Make the rest of the red paper like a wall paper.
9. Cut and glue a yellow piece of paper like the sun.
10. Get and glue your cityscape.

Swiming

For swimming me and the year 4s went  to the deep pool because this session is
how to pull the person
drowning and it is pretend after me and
 Spelman were buddies after we did  2 rounds of pulling with the water noodle we have to lie down on your chest or you tummy.
Before the pencil dive we have to float on my back then lift your hands up and down. After it was the pencil dive.

table conga

This week for my Multiplication/Division Can do I have decided to do Tables conga. Tables conga helps you to remember how to do your multiplication from 1 time tables - 7 time tables. I  did my 2 times tables to start off easy. Next Week I might skip some and go straight to 4 time tables.

Raz kidz

Today we were leaning about question but we had to go on razz kids and razz kids is about you get high to the z and we could do activity and we had to find are spot to re-cord but the main thing we had to do was that we had to read the story and then we have to re could it and our  teacher has to listen to is that it could make sentience and that it has the problem and the setting and and when we fished doing that we had to to talk about what happen in the story and well we have to record it when we fished we have to press next and then it takes me to questing and we had to get the answer that belong to the questing and when we fished doing that we have to press done and then it say the we get 300 stairs that is for reading.


The book I read is the Taj Mahal. The Taj Mahal is a big fanzy building in Agra India. The Taj mahal is made with white stone and some stones around the taj mahal building has 4 skiny white stone towers at the end of the book we have to answer the question.





Narrative writing

LI: to write a narrative use descriptive words to make our stories more exiting.
Today I made a narrative to make it exciting with some paragraph and is also 40 mins.
The story:

My Character is a clown named Chad he is a strong as a ninja. He has a shiny gold galaxy bricks. Chad is cleaver and he can answer a question like a speed of a Lamborghini. He has big blue shiny smart galaxy eyes. Chad is a Mt Everest climber like Sir Edmund Hillary who made the beautiful galaxy purple dollar note. He has a shiny, green , ancillary , small hot ears like those who have small hot ears, a hot ear is like a pepper.

The  mountain is clear like fresh water. It is 9x thicker than ice, snow and dry ice. The mountain is smooth than a chunk of clear blue ice and snow. It is fresh than a fresh clear no sugar water that smell delicious. The mountain is 9x colder than dry if you dare to touch it. It has ice that is 6x colder than ice, snow, dry ice and cold liquids. The ice is clear and you can see what is under the ice.

Chad was living in a mountain his mountain was super duper cold he was wearing a warm leather after he sawed something weird he was thinking like a nerd and he silently said to himself is it the 2 brother he thinked. After they were having battle to each other. Then Chad were started to destroy the two brother with all his power. After the battle Chad was angry because of the 2 brothers trying to destroy mountain and now I finally rid of them.

After he was cleaning his place after he put his sword in is sword case and attach it on his back after he went to the top of the mountain because he wants to see the mountain view after he was saying to himself that why did i kill the 2 brothers after chad’s heavenly god was speaking to him after his god spoked “why did you kill the 2 brother”. “Because they were destroying my place and me” Chad repiled.

After Chad went to his house above the mountain.  
He was drinking hot chocolate with marshmallow in his house.

And he went to the bottom to see the fireworks. He went up to sing and sleep with his headphones.

This activity was good and awesome.

We were learning about
 how to save people if they
 are drowning. If we needed help we
 have to put our hands up and shout out
 help a lot of times to get the life guards attention. 
Another one is getting a paddle and pull the person in danger.

Maths

For maths we were learning about angles the main 5 is straight, reflex ,acute, ,obtuse and right.  Straight angle is a straight line. Acute angle is like a little v on the side. Reflex angle is like a r but the bottom is on the side.  Obtuse is like a beach chair. A right angle is like a L.
We have to measure the angles with letters and a projector.

How to use a projector?
On the projector there is numbers inside and outside.
On the projector there is a line at the bottom of the projector after you have to connect the of the sheet.





Problem solving with kiwi can

For kiwi can we were learning about problem solving. Problem solving means that I have to solve our problem. We play a game called human knot this game works is we have to be in 2 circle we have to put our right hand and attach it to your friends hand then put your left hand and attach it to your friends left. After we play Matt doage ball this game works is that we have to be in a circle after we have to be in number after the leaders have to say a number  after we have to attack them after we attack them with a doage ball. After we did a Master GKQ.

Writing

 LI: to write a character description.
We were learning about how to write a character description. After we have to complete the doc we have to make a boring story to a exciting story after we have to blog our work. This activity was fun.

Maths



This week we were learning about angle. We learn 5 of the angle the angles are called right, acute, reflex, Obtuse and straight. A right angle is like a L. And it is 90 degrees. Then the acute angle is small and it is between 0-90 degrees. A Reflex angle is between 180-360 degrees. A obtuse is between 90- 180 degrees.  A straight angle is like straight line.

Bridges of the world

For inquiry we were learning Compering the Panmure bridge and the Auckland habour bridge and we have to compare the Panmure bridge to a another bridge around the world. Then we have to do a map with 6-10 bridges then we have to copy the  cost , year built , materials
and the length Height, Width.

Media cybersmart


  • LI: to identify the purpose of the information presented in media.

For cybersmart we have to take a photo of you at school and your families and friends then you have to do 2 word list and a word cloud made by the word list.







3D shapes



For math we were looking at 3D and 2D shape. 3D shapes are a 2D shape has many sides for example a cube it has 4 sides of a square. A 2D shape has  only 1 side of  3D shape.

For inquiry we were studying the panmure bridge and compare with the habour bridge than compare it with a another bridge before we did the work we have to talk about what we did last week.

LI: To plan a narrative.
This week for our writing we were working on our setting for
our character we made. My character was the Clown. We had to write in what kind of things there would be in the setting. For my setting, I chose a hut for the clown. We had to add information about what the setting has.

Swimming

LI: to learn hypothermia and hypothermia

For swimming we were learning about hypothermia
 and hypothermia. Hypothermia means that your lips will be blue then your teeth will chatter and you will be not able to walk because your body shuts down because you are super cold then you shake super fast because it is unstoppable. Then hypothermia means that you are super hot. Then after that talk we go to our swimming platform then we learn about swimming and the safety and the rules then we went out of the platform then we went to the change rooms then we change then went on the bus then we went to room 5 and ate our morning tea then we came back to LS1.

Kiwi can

LI: to learn resilience.
Today for kiwi can we were learning about resilience and goal setting. Resilience means that you bounce back after disappointment. And goal setting means that you have to never give up and just have a couple runs at midnight. Then we played a game called snatch how this game works that people have to be in a circle with the rope then the kiwi can leaders will put the cones in the middle then the people have to get the cones with out diving only just run and get it then we were playing octopus how this game works is that 1 person will be the octopus then there will be 2 groups and those 2 groups have to the other side when the octopus have to get the people when the kiwi can leaders say crawl we have to crawl. Then we did GKQ our buzzer was that we have to turn around and touch the ground then say your name then the front and the other row have to do it.

Questioning


LI: to try and understand that difference between different types of questions.
This week for reading we go t two pieces of paper and one of the pieces had different types of questions and that other one had that place for the different types of questions and were they have to go we had to cut out all of the questions and we had to stick them on that right square using glue and we also had to write a small description about why we think these questions go here and all the questions were based on a book that we read it was called the little yellow digger and once we have finished all of that we could blog our work about what we did.

LI : This week for inquiry we learned about structures.

 This week for inquiry we learned about structures. First we had to get into 3 groups and my group was  Giovanni, Akuhata and me and after we found our 3 groups we went on our Chromebook and then Giovanni send me the slide and for this slide we had to put 5 or 6 images and we had to put Panmure Bridge photo and then after we did the images we did changes and changes is like when something changes and then after we did changes we did impact and impact is like when how people live in this area and then after did impact we did future and future is means like a period of time following the moment of speaking or writing time regarded as still to come and the after we did future we had to blog it and then put it in the LS1 must do.

For reading we were learning QAR and we were using the story web and panning to write question and remember that right there is pointing to the answer. think and search is like you have to think and search for the answer on the picture. Author and me is like the author is telling you a question to you and the answer is not in the book and you have to think an answer for the question. Finnaly is on my own. On my own is also called playground questions.

Kiwi can

Today for kiwi can we were learning about resilience and we played Tag snatch this game works is that the people have to have a random color tag then the leaders told to go then the people have to snatch the other players tag then last person win when then people can not snatch the other player tag and those two players are the winner. After the 1st game we did the lesson the leaders told question to us then we have to answer the question and we have great answer to the question. We have a game called ball trouble how this game work is that the leaders say like back to back.

Swimming

LI: to learn water safety.
For swimming me and the years 4 we went swimming and we were doing some practice to get in the pool then I was in the deep pool.
 During the deep pool we were doing a floating 4 point star then we did hands together in the sky then we have to bend our knees then we dive.
Then we were using the noodles for the people who don't put there back on the water and not doing the floating 4 point star with our backs.
Then we have to go to the platform when we finish.
