Tech Reflections - Curry

 LI: to learn how to make curry.

Today we made curry with rice

The ingredients were: salsa, spices, water, onions, spinich, ginger, and garlic.

First we diced the onions, and two pieces of garlic and put the ginger in the big pot with the gas on. Then we stir everything in, after we stir we put the spinich in and if the mixture was dry we put half of a cup in the mixture. After, we put the spices and the salsa into the mixture then we stir. 

Then we put even amounts of rice into our containers and put the curry mixture in to the rice.

This week's food was easy to make but it was hard to avoid the onions.

Tidy Drive

LI: To organize our Drives.

This week's cybersmart challenge was to tidy up our drive.  First, we had to order which is first and which is last to make Digital Learning Object. Then, we had to organize John's drive. If it's says Untitled drawing/presentation/doc we had to cirlce red. After that we had to organize our drives. We had to make a folder named Others so that any miscellaneous could go in that folder.

This challenge was fun to organize our drive and it was easy to fill out

PB4L

LI: to understand the proper way of wearing school uniform

Today for PB4L I had wrote the acceptable uniform. First, we looked at what we should wear and not wear in our school uniform. Next we looked at what accessories that we accept at school like religious items like necklaces, or anklets, and more. Then we looked at the formal situation that showed what we should only wear and not wear in assembly, prize giving, Manaiakalani Film Festival, etc

Tech Reflection

 LI: To make pancakes and fruit sauce with ice cream.

Today it was the second day of Food Tech. The second day was about making pancakes and fruit sauce with ice cream. The teachers name was called Mrs Hecker

The ingeridents were milk, eggs, baking powder, flour, oil, bananas .

First we put the milk and the egg into the large bowl and mix it. After we got a measuring cup to measur the amount of the flour and baking powder.

We measure half of a cup of flour and half a cup of baking powder. We pour the mixture in the medium bowl. In the small bowl we had to get two bananas and mash it. 

Next, we mixed the flour with the egg and milkuntil it get a bit liquidy, this was a sign to put the mash bananas in the mixuture.

Then, we got a pan and started the stove and poured the oil then the pancake mixture until it is finished.

After we added ice cream on the side witht the berry sauce on top of the ice cream.

I enjoyed it because it was delicious to make and also hard.

Keeping Clever


Maths is the subject of shapes, numbers, and space by using a system of symbols.

Our task was to skip count in 2's, 3's, 5's, did a pattern challenge, and skip counting od numbers First wehad to skip count the next 5 or 2 numbers for the 2's, 3's, 5's and the odd numbers. We use notebooks to do our woking out in it. For me I did it digital because it was easy to do.

The next task was the pattern slide. It showed the pattern and asked question. The question were: 

What will be in the box above 10?  

What will be in the box above 11?

What will be in the box above 13?

What will be in the box above 20?

Will star be above 30?


This task was easy because I know how to skip count but sometimes I don't read the instruction.

What does Culture mean to me?

For this task we were learning about what culture is. First we would brainstorm what culture was to us in groups then share our ideas with the whole class room. after that we had one big brainstorm cloud our what culture was on the white board. After that we had to make a DLO about culture. I worked with Spelman, Siale, Carter, and Texas. I found this task very fun because I got to learn more about culture and made deeper connection to our learning.

Summary Of For the Ancestors


Ancestors is part of the family tree because of our blood and it is because we have a spiritual connection to them like Matalena. Our task was to read a article which was about Tatau and Ancestors. When we were finished reading we had to use this summarising template to help us create a paragraph telling us some of the snapshot of the story of For the Ancestors. This task was really fun because it got me to learn about tatau and how I have a spiritual connection.

Mingalaba,

I'm David and I speak Burmese and Kachin/Jing Hpaw and a little bit of korean. I came from Malaysia but arrived in New Zealand in 2010. I am 12 years old. I like kpop, my favorite kpop bands are BTS, Tomorrow x Together, Blackpink, Red Velvet, Exo, Nct 127, Treasure, WEi, GOT7, ATEEZ, Monsta X, iKON, Cravity and Too. I have two sisters and two parents. My favorite sport is volleyball. I like honey chicken and fried rice. I am a fan of anime. My favorite anime are Demon Slayer, Seraph of the End and Attack On Titans. My goal is to be more confident.

Being Cybersmart

LI: To make a DLO about being cybersmart.

Cybersmart is a term of using learn, create, and share on your computer by using smart and clever ways.

For those who are new to keyboards, they have shortcuts, some are:

Ctrl + Z to undo

Ctrl + Y to Redo

Ctrl + C to Copy

Ctrl + V to Paste

And loads more.

Being cybersmart is important because if you don’t make wise choices online people your actions might have big consequences.

This activity was enjoyable because all of my ideas come from my prior knowledge about being cybersmart but some ideas are from websites and wrie in my own words.

Giant Panda

LI: To use our smart searching skills to find information about the giant panda

Giant pandas live in the bamboo jungles of Western China in the Sichuan province. Pandas eat bamboo shoots, leafs and stem. The biggest threat to pandas is the Chinese people who believe that Pandas skin is a magical protection from evil spirits.

Our task was to make a DLO about Giant Pandas and use our smart searching skills to make notes about it. After using my smart searching skills to find out about the giant panda I made notes then used my notes to help me create this DLO about the Giant Pandas.

I found this activity easy but hard because I had to research and read to get the right information. I enjoyed this because I get to learn a bit more about pandas. Two interesting facts I found out about giant pandas is that adult pandas stand up to 150 cm and typically weigh around 80 to 150 kgs, and they live about 5000 feet in the remote mountain forest of central China

Outside the box

LI: To think outside the box, be creative and complete the picture

This challenge was to think outside the box and be creative by creating a picture from the lines that were drawn on the DLO. To complete this task we were asked to continue the drawing and create an image.

I made this challenge even better by timing myself to draw. I had 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Nothing was hard but the time I had to draw.

Tatau

 LI: To create a DLO that tells others about tatau.

Tattooing has played an important part in many cultures over time. Our challenge was to use our smart searching skills to find out about traditional tattooing in our own culture.

I found it quite hard to research because Myanmar is a weathly place but it does have the information that I need but sometimes not

I enjoyed it because I get to talk about how my home country make and do the tattos and the history of it.

An interesting fact I found out about the tatau is that womans have tattoos that most.
