Our task today was how to dissect a flower.
Our learning goal and outcome:
Know the parts of the flower and what function of each part is.
Be able to dissect a flower, arrange its parts and collate on an information sheet
Complete a diagram of a flower
Parts of a Hibiscus
Stigma
Style
Anther
Pollen Tube
Sepal
Thalamus
Male Gametophyte
Petal
Ovule
Female Gametophyte
The Steps to dissect a flower:
remove one petal and sepal
make it clean
carefully pinch the sides of the ovule
straight cut to see the pollen tube and ovule
remove the style
I enjoyed this weeks lesson because I learnt how to dissect a flower.
