Respected Leader

LI: To complete a presentation on a respected leader

This is my last task I've completed to get my silver respect badge.

During week ten, on Saturday I created a presentation on a respected leader. I wrote how a leader guides their team and motivates/supports them when they need it most. I also wrote how a leader should not act. An irresponsible leader would act like they know everything and avoid showing grattitude.

I've found this activity interesting because I had the oppertunity to show people what a true leader is.

Write a letter to a teacher or staff member

This is my fourth task to get my silver badge.

During week nine I've written a thank you note to a teacher and a staff memeber. The first thank you letter I wrote was to Mrs Pryde. I wrote this letter for her because she helped us at camp during the hike. The second thank you letter I wrote was to Mrs Caroline. I wrote this letter for her because she helped during the whole week of camp, and she also helped the people who got injured.

I've found this activity fun because I got take the oppertunity to show how I appreciate the teachers who helped us on camp.

Teach a New skill

LI: to teach your teacher a new skill.

This is the first task to get my Silver Confidence badge.

I made this during lockdown. I got some inspiration from Chris because he took the Burmese one, but I changed it to my home language called Kachin.

The language Kachin was made by Ola Hanson a Swedish-American missoionary in 1890. The Kachin language is the same as english but how you say it.

Key Competencies

LI: To compare the Key Competencies we think we will use on camp and the Key Competencies we actually used.

Before we went to camp our challenge was to think about when we might use the Key Competencies as we faced the challenges.  When we came back from camp we looked at this and compared how we thought we would use the Key Competencies and how we actually used them.

I found this activity easy to fill in but hard to remember everything I did at camp.

Brochure

LI: To make a collaborative brochure that tells others why Kokako Lodge is a great place to go on camp.

  Inside

Outside

Over the last week everyone challenged themselves during the sessions at archery, high ropes, kayaking, raft building, camp cooking, pancake race and team building/orienteering. Our group collaborated to create a brochure that shows others why Kokako Lodge is a great place to go on camp.

Words of Support - 5 minutes of Camp

Words of Encouragement

My legs were shaking like an earthquake, but then my left foot went on the first metal rung on the ladder, I felt the ladder shaking not having trust for that person who was holding the ladder.

Then my right foot went on the second rung, my heart was beating like it was on a marathon, I said to myself “you can do it, nothing could stop you” that gave me the encouragement to pass the ladder to the metal rung.

There was a great big gap to put my left foot on the rung, butterflies was in my stomach looping around like it was on a roller coaster, and then the words “ you can do it, nothing could stop you” came and now I had the encouragement to climb all the way to the top on the beam, I sighed for achievement and relieve.

At this stage, I got the other rope but I also didn’t have the trust of the person holding the rope, I thought that I might fall or fly. I walked slowly then fast to the other pole because I wanted to finish it but I had to hug and say “ I love you to the pole” but I didn’t instead I said “goodbye”.

I walked backwards until I walked sideways because I felt I might bump my head on the pole. Then I walked to the middle and said nothing. Then it becomes more risky because I had to lean back but the instructor wasn’t paying attention so I was dangling down when the instructor looked at me. Then they were pulling me down. I sigh of relief. This was an experience to remember.

LI: To recount a 5 minute snapshot of one experience you had at camp.

Last week we went to camp at Kokako Lodge. My 5 minute snapshot shows my personal voice and I have tried hard to paint a picture with my words to describe what I was doing and how I felt.

I found this activity easy to getmy ideas but hard to write it.

Kokako Bird Info graphic

LI: To create an infographic using google draw that tells your audience facts about the kokako.

This week, everyone in LS2 has been given a set of different challenges based on our camp. For this activity we used our smart searching skills to find information about the North Island Kokako bird.

I like most about this activity is the smart searching I had to use.

Camp Collage

LI: To create a collage of your camp highlights.

This week LS2 have been celebrating our camp. I created this collage to show my time at camp and the activities I enjoyed. To make my collage effective I thought about the size of the images, the angle of the images and I tried hard not to leave any gaps between the photos.

The thing that I like that most is the organizing the photos and being creative.
