You are king | SLJ

The song is called You are King.

The lyrics goes "When the oceans rise and thunders roar. I will soar with you above the storm. You are king over anything".

The meaning of this song is at the end of the day us humans will see what the almighty can do and when we see it with our bare eyes, we repent by saying: You are king over anything.

This song came up to me when I was 6 or 7 years old, I wrote the lyrics and I never knew I wrote it so here I am singing my own song.

Here is me singing the song:

  3. Hi SIale,
Thanks for your great and it is a song to repent sins. I got the idea from Still by Hillsong. Why do we need to repent sin when you are in front of God?

  4. Hi David,
Great Job getting your summer learning journey tasks done over the holidays. I think your song was great, and you had the courage to sing your song on camera, that shows us that you have confidence. I love the meaning behind your song, its so powerful. Have you made any other songs in the past?

    Very Good Job David!

    2. Hi David,
Thanks for having the time to reply back to me. I think the hardest part of this activity was the part when we created the actual chorus. Other than that that this activity was really fun. Are you planning on making music your career in the future?

      Thanks for replying!

  5. Kia Ora David,

It’s Charlotte here, a commenter for the Manaiakalani Summer Learning Journey. I thought the work you have done on the ‘Rise Up’ task was great!

WOW, the recording that you made of yourself singing the song you created was awesome! It is very inspiring how confident you were, well done! What was your inspiration for this song?

I noticed that you said that the lyrics to this song came to you when you were 6-7 years old, I would love to see some lyrics that you have created more recently!
