LI: To learn the teachings of our tupuna (ancestors) and the history of New Zealand's native people and their land.
First, We started the trip by meeting in the hall, in the hall we had introductions from Ngarimu and KIngi. Then watched the museum video taling about the rules and everthing you must know if you are just going for the first time. Then we talk a little bit about the challenge for the day.
During the trip the first thing was that the staff were talking about the museum. Then, had Morning tea together then explored the gallery.
Ngarimu talked about the weaponry (this was a focus area), then talked about the treaty and the waka. Then, Kingi talked about the inner carvings inside the wharenui.
After, we explored for 15-20 minutes around the museum. Then, had lunch as a group after the karakia. After having lunch, we learnt 7 different taiaha move, then learning how to do the haka by using a taiaha.
Kia Ora David, what was the most interesting thing you learnt?
ReplyDeleteHi Ms Pryde,
